This was the first time someone started think about the thinking process. Benjamin Bloom thought you can not understand a topic if you do not remember it first. It is a growth pattern from lower grade thinking skills to higher grade thinking skills.

Blooms Revised Taxonomy

2001

Lorin Anderson, a former student of Bloom, created the revised Bloom Taxonomy. The major change came from the use of verbs instead of nouns for each of the categories and the rearrangement of the sequence within the taxonomy. The categories are always increasing from lowest order thinking skills to higher order thinking skills.
