    Blended Learning Overview

We will be a blended learning school, using 90% less paper, reducing our carbon footprint, by 2023.
  • Introduce to Staff on First Meeting after Holiday Break 2019

Introduce to Staff on First Meeting after Holiday Break 2019
Our school has some access to technology. We have laptop carts in classrooms, in the library and during lunch for kids who prefer to play video games. I would like our school and district to be mostly paperless by 2023. Five five years to upload curriculum, assignments, tests, videos, tutorials, powerpoints. I realize that we cannot upload everything to the internet, but most assignments can be done in google docs, and many tests can be given as multiple choice, fill-in the blank.
  • Creation of Google Classrooms

    Creation of Google Classrooms
Teachers will create their own Google Classrooms
  • Online Tutorial

    Online Tutorial
Each teacher will be tasked with creating a mini-lesson and uploading it to their google classroom. Recycled or brand-new curriculum is OK.
  • First Online Test Given to Students

First Online Test Given to Students
Each teacher, after given help, tutorials, etc. will be tasked with providing their first fully-digital/online based test. Done by the end of January.
  • Syllabus/Course Overview Online

    Syllabus/Course Overview Online
Teachers to upload course syllabus, expectations, etc. to their google classrooms. Overview on projector at the beginning of the year, but if student or parent wants, they must print themselves.
  • Upload One Unit worth of Curriculum

Upload One Unit worth of Curriculum
Each teacher will upload to their drives/google classrooms one unit worth of curriculum, or 2 weeks worth. A 2 week trial run any time during the first semester.
  • Double the Amount of Curriculum on the Web

Double the Amount of Curriculum on the Web
Teachers will fine tune the limited amount of online Blended Learning material they did the previous year, and double it this year. A small task and step.
  • A Year of Fine Tuning (2020-2021)

Teachers will use school year 2020-2021 to fine tune the Blended Learning that they have implemented thus far. They can re-adjust, add more, refine and rework. Ask kids what has worked, what was effective, etc. The school will provide more training, resources and opportunities to help teachers and students be successful.
  • All Handouts in Digital/PDF Form

This year teachers will attempt to have all handouts online. Most tests and assignments will be given, completed and turned in on google docs, google classroom, or via email. School will offer support with extra help, assistants, tutorials on how to scan/email/upload files into google or the format of choice.
  • A Year of Implementation (2022-2023)

    A Year of Implementation (2022-2023)
As long as the school is 1:1 with laptops, everybody has access to WIFI and the teachers have been trained properly and are on board, the most work should be able to be done online, digitally. Curriculum accessed anywhere that has internet. Assignments, rubrics, video tutorials for extra help, etc. It should all be online. Teachers are still the guiding light at school and in the classroom, but students can review, and have incredible amounts of help, when not at school.
  • Creation of Google Drive, Docs and Assignments

Creation of Google Drive, Docs and Assignments
Teachers will create a Google Drive for each classroom, and upload 5-10 short assignments to students.
