baby is born after months of growing inside of the womb. -
Blastocyst
After 5 days, it grows and it now called a blastocyst -

embryo is elongated. 1/10 of an inch long -
4 weeks
embryo has arm buds, beginning of eyes -

nose takes shape -
6 weeks
leg buds form. less then 1/2 in. long -
7 weeks
3/4 in. long. Can move hands, eye lenses formed, skull growing together. -
8 weeks
fingers and toes visible/ well defined -
10 weeks
considered fetus, can move actively. 2 in long -
11 weeks
2 1/2 in. long. -
12 weeks
3 in. long -
14 weeks
can bring hands together/suck thumb -
15 weeks
sensory organs fully developed -
16 weeks
turning inside uterus -
18 weeks
mouth and lips are fully formed. Baby continues to grow longer. Could not survive at this point. -
contractions
Mother begins to contract and is about to have her baby.
