Size at 2 weeks is the size of a pen head. The egg attaches to the uteriane lining. Critical brain and spinal cord development. Internal organs and circulatory system begins to form, and the heart begins to beat. -

Size is a fourth of an inch at the beginning of the month. Bones begin to forum. Face, eyes, ears, and limbs take shape. -

Month 3
About one inch long at the biginning of the month. Nostrils, mouth, lips, and eye lids forum. Buds for all twenty baby teeth appear. Fingers and toes almost complete. All organs present but immature. -

Size 3 inches one ounce at the beginning of the month. Can suck its thumb, swallow, hiccup, and move around the mother may feel movement at this time. Facial features become clearer. -

Size 6 1/2 to 7 inches and 4-5 ounces. Hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows appear. Teeth continue to developed. Organs are maturing. Fetus becomes more active. -

Size is 8-10 inches and 8-12 ounces. Fat deposits under skin but fetus appears wrinkled. Breathing movement begins. -

Size is 10 - 12 inches long weights 1 1/2 - 2 pounds. Has periods of activity followed by periods of rest and quiet. -

Size 14-16 inches long and weighs 2 1/2-3 pounds. Rapid weight gain continues. May react to loud noises with a reflex jerking action. Moves in to a head down position. -

Month 9
Size 17 -18 inches long and weighs 5-6 pounds. Weight gain continues. Skin becomes smooth as fat deposits continue. Movement decreases due to less space. Acquires antibodies from the mothers blood. Descends in to the pelvis ready for birth. -
