    Alexander's youth.

    Alexander studies under Aristotle the student of Plato, Greek Philosophers. Under his fathers leadership, he was trained for battle.

    Alexander is Born...

    King Philip II and Olympias give birth to Alexander in the month of July in the year of 356 B.C in Pella, Greece.
  • 336 BCE

    King Philip II of Macedonia is assassinated.

    King Philip II is assassinated by his son Alexander due to fear that his step brother would become King and not him. Later on, Alexander seized power at the age of 20.

    Alexander now comes to power

    Alexander went on to conquer most of the mediterranian world. This includes Egypt, and Persia.
  • 334 BCE

    Alexander's empire...

    Alexander's empire stretched from the Nile River all the way to the Indus River. It included Persia, Greece, and India.

    Alexander in Persia.

    Alexander kept the Persian bureaucracy and satraps. He also called himself the " King of Kings" but left governance to others. Later on, he took on the Persian dress and ritual prostration, or making people kiss his hand or gravel upon meeting him.

    The Hellenistic Culture.

    Wherever Alexander went, he spread Greek culture and his followers also absorbed eastern ideas and styles. He did this to "imitate the Greeks". He had achievements in Science and Philosophy.

    Alexander's Marriage.

    Alexander later on married the daughter of King Darius of Persia. Roxana in 328 B.C and she died in the year of 324 B.C
  • 323 BCE

    Death of Alexander.

    Before he died, he reached the Indus River in 327 B.C, his army had been fighting for 7 years and more than 11,000 miles so his soldiers refused to go any further. On the way back to Greece, Alexander became ill. He died of a fever at the age of 32 and never "ruled" his empire and left it behind and later on crumbled down.

    Alexander the Great became King of Macedonia after the death of his father. As a skilled general, Alexander conquered a vast empire. He spread Greek ideas to unify his huge territory. He showed respect for the cultures of the people he conquered as well. Alexander died in the month of June, year 323 B.C.
