    -Darrow was an American lawyer and a leading member of the American Civil Liberties Union.
    -He defended many high class clients during the 1920's
    -One of his famous trials was the Scopes Monkey Trial.

    -Tennessee high school substitute accused of violating Tennessee Butler Act.
    -The substitute talked about human evolution but it was against the law to do that because it didn't follow the views of humans in the bible.

    Farmers deep plowed virgin soil, destroying the native grasses that helped the soil stay in place. Due to a malpractice of farming during the roaring 20's soil began to be lifted up easily with the wind. These dust storms drastically affected the agricultural of the American prairies.

    -He created many programs so people could get jobs.

    She was married to FDR and was a first lady of the US. FDR was also her 5th cousin, they were both related to Teddy Roosevelt. She held a chair in the PCSW.

    FDR wanted to fix the economy during the Great Depression. The New Deal was to make new programs to help people get a job. Many programs help people get an education and still work and hey would get a commission for them and their families.

    The three R's was created by FDR to help the problems of mass unemployment. This program required immediate, temporary or permanent actions. The three R's were part of FDR's New Deal.

    The first amendment to repeal another. This amendment repealed the 18th amendment which was to ban alcohol. Since organized crime began to rise due to prohibition and prohibition became unpopular the 21st amendment was created.

    It is an independent agency of the US federal government. This enforces laws on regulating the securities industry. They require annual reports on public companies.

    It is a social insurance program that includes retirement, disabilities and survivors' benefits. The way they get this money is from what workers pay taxes on what they have earned. It was part of FDR's New Deal.
