Creation
The 1st and 2nd Regiments of the Sharpsthooters were created with Hiram Berdan as Colonel. They hailed from all states with in the Union. Their main duty was to gaurd roads and flanks respectively against the enemy and watch the enemy calvery and flanks. Their second objective was to protect batteries and pick off gunners even when in a "one to one hundred" scenario. -

Peninsula Campeign
A compeign to hopefully end the war by capturing Richmond, capital of the Confederate States of America. it failed in the end, with the confederates defending Richmond from the Union. The Sharpshooters were divided amound the different divisions to fight and only a handful of them were wounded or killed.This campeign included the Battle of Yorktown, the Battle of Williamsburg, the Seven Days battle and other smaller battles. -

Second Battle of Bull Run
A far worse battle than the First Battle of Bull Run, this ended in Union retreat. It was a three day Battle where it seemed the union might win at first but quickly turned with longstreets counterattack. The Sharpshooters were positioned in front of Porters Division and fought well acarding to Porter. They left after the battle to rejoin the Army of the Potomac. -
Battle of Antietam
also known as the battle of Sharpsburg, was a success to the union side for keeping Lee from invading. Sharpshooters helpes to get the confederates off of South Mountain. -

Hiram Berdan becomes Colonel again after Henry was discharged. -

Battle of Fredericksburg
Burnside wanted to cross the Rappahannok River to get to Richmond before Lee had a chance to stop him, but Lee ended up getting to the river before his men could cross. Once Burnside's men crossed, while under heavy fire, a battle ensued as Burnside tried to get closer to Richmond. It was a failed attempt by the Union, being forced back by the strongly defensive Confederate army. -

Battle of Chancellorsville
Some Sharpsthooters were with teh VI Corps lead by John Sedgwick. They broke through Confederate lines at Fredricksburg and headed towards Chancellorsville.They ended up retreating on May 5th back across the river, with the rest of the union army retreating the next two days. -

Battle of Gettysburg
The Sharpshooters helped delay the Confederate troops at Devil's Den and the Peach Orchard as well as Litlle Roundtop. The 1st Regiment stalled the advancing troops of Wilcox at Seminary Ridge while the 2nd regiment fought against Longstreets troops at Little Roundtop and Devil's Den. The second killed a few officers, including Joe Smith, who they shot 11 times in the head while aiming at his hankerchief. The battle ended in Union victory, but with a heavy price paid by both sides. -
Casper Dies
Casper trepp dies in battle during the Battle of Mine Run. Casper had been given command of the 1st regiment when Berdan officially became the cheif. -

Battle of the Wilderness
Company G of the Berdan sharpshooters took part in most of the battles. The whole battle was inconclusive and lead to the battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. -

Battle of Cold Harbor
arpshooters had no rest during the last few days of this bloody battle. They killed many Confederates. They ended up marching off towards Petersburg on the 12th when they withdrew. The battle ended with a Confederate victory. -

The last battle of the Civil War, ending in the Confederate surrender at Appomattox Court House. -

The 1st and 2nd regiments are consolidated into one regiment.
