  • Lucky Charms

    Lucky Charms
Lucky charms is an American cereal company. I remember watching this commercial all the time as a kid. I actually really liked it and I convinced my mom to buy them for me on our next trip to the grocery store.

  • GEICO Gecko

    GEICO Gecko
I think that Geico first introduced it's "Geico Gecko" in 2005 but I remember seeing a lot of commercials featuring it when I lived in the states. Occassionally, I thought that the commercials were funny but sometimes I didn't understand the parts when he was talking about car insurance. We didn't use this company. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OIEFo2axGE
  • Progressive's Flo

    Progressive's Flo
I remember a Progressive campaign featuring a Progressive cashier named Flo. She was really bubbly and I thought she was funny at the time. I knew the name "Progressive" but I didn't know what they sold. Apparently, it's car insurance. I don't think my parents used this.

  • Colgate: Brush 3 times a day

Colgate: Brush 3 times a day
The commercial was created for Colgate featuring 3 kids singing about good dental habits. I found out that this commercial was first released in 2000 but it continued to run when I moved to the Philippines in 2010. This commercial would play after every single commercial break on Nickelodeon. They had this catchy but also very annoying jingle that I still remember to this day. We bought Colgate toothpaste already but not because of this ad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX5zQqxuZvI
  • Snickers: You're not you when you're hungry

Snickers: You're not you when you're hungry
There was this commercial that was released in 2010 featuring Betty White getting tackled while playing football. It turns out that the character wasn't actually Betty White but was only hungry until given a Snicker's bar. I thought it was pretty clever and funny. Snickers is one of my favorite chocolate bars today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=29&v=VLy4qzV1gL0
  • It's more fun in the Philippines!

It's more fun in the Philippines!
This is one of the most well-known and successful slogans in the Philippines today. The Department of Tourism released this campaign in 2012 which I believe is still going on today. I thought this campaign was very clever and it makes me proud to be a Filipino. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADNgEHFDYzo
  • Pantene Whip It

    Pantene Whip It
Pantene is a hair care brand. This commercial was very popular when it first came out, 1) because it didn't have the usual "silky soft smooth hair shots" that are very typical of Filipino shampoo commercials and 2) because it touched on a serious social issue which is gender inequality. I felt that the commercial was very empowering. Also, I just realized that the woman in the commercial is Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEAnYmpBxFw
  • Finally, Ariel!

    Finally, Ariel!
Ariel is a soap company for clothes. This commercial was shot like a music video, with a catchy song and dancers. The commercial is funny and I really enjoyed watching it. My family uses Ariel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIjZImAyoKs
  • Milo Energy Gap

    Milo Energy Gap
Milo is a chocolate milk drink that's supposed to be kind of healthy. The Philippines absolutely loves singing and dancing so it wasn't really a surprise when Nestle released a jingle + dance choreography for their new campaign. All my friends used to make fun of it but it gained a lot of popularity elsewhere, with people making their own dance covers of the song. It was like an "In my feelings" dance craze. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYHoTD0WOHc
  • Jollibee Jingle

    Jollibee Jingle
Jollibee is the biggest fast food chain in the Philippines. This jingle was sung by Sarah Geronimo, a very famous singer here in the Philippines. They had this catchy tune that played on the radio all the time. I still can't forget it. The link below is the commercial version that looks very much like a music video. Music video type commercials are very common here. I sometimes eat at Jollibee. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w1_VIFGeis
  • Jollibee: Valentine Series

    Jollibee: Valentine Series
Filipinos are very into drama, heartbreak, and romance, especially now with the massive boom in Korean dramas. When Jollibee released its 4 episode Valentine series, that's all anyone was really talking about. I watched one of the episodes, "Vow", on youtube. It was a feel-good episode with a bittersweet ending. I enjoyed watching it and I could see why it got so much attention. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyk1UBhROhDTgFzh6Ls-jRA
  • Globe: Meet the Best Buds in the Galaxy!

Globe: Meet the Best Buds in the Galaxy!
Globe is a major provider of telecommunications services in the Philippines. The Star Wars "SOLO" movie came out this year so that's probably why Globe jumped on the hype. This commercial was heartwarming and relatable. I've used Globe for 3 years now
