  • Battle of Galveston

    On October 4, 1862 a Confederate force under Magruder (Which started with Herbert) attacked a place that was called Galveston. They defeated the Union forces as Renshaw was killed while he was rushing through Westfield. Later, the Confederate force regained control of Galveston.
  • Battle of Sabine Pass

    The battle of Sabine Pass was a confusing battle of the war. It ended up as the Union defeat and Confederate victory. After 35 minutes of intense fighting from the Confederate Garrison at Sabine, 200 prisoners were captured, two federal ships were completely destroyed, and the Union forces ended up withdrawing.
  • Battle of Palmito Ranch

    This war lasted from May 12 to May 15 in 1885. About 1,000 soldiers fought at the Battle of Palmito Ranch. hispanic soldiers fighting for the South, as black soldiers fighting for the Union. It was a very concentrated battle. After the rebel forces fought through the Union attack, Barret retreated. This is when the last battle of the Civil War came to a stop.
