Original Game Rules
There were 13 orignal rules established by James Naismith. Nine of the rules are still used till this day. Some original rules are The ball may be thrown in any direction with one or both hands. The ball may be batted in any direction with one or both hands. Another one is that the ball must be held in or between the hands, the arms or body must not be used for holding it. -

NBA Rules today
In Today's NBA game youre allowed to dribble the basketball unlike when Naismith first created the first 13 rules of the NBA. In fact 9 of the 13 rules that Naismith originally created are still used today. Lastly there are only 10 players allowed on the court unlike the 18 that were allowed on the court when the game was first created. -

Today basketball has gotten away from the peach basket's and gone more towards a more reliable hoop made out of metal and cloth lining for a net. Also, now a day's there are spots on the court where you cannot go. Back in the day you could go behind the hoop but now if you go behind it. You would be considered out of bounds
