art an excellent propaganda weapon to stop the Protestant Reformation, after the Council of Trent had
definitively laid the foundations for the restoration of Catholicism. -

Baroque music refers to the period or dominant style of Western classical music composed from about 1600 to 1750. The Baroque period is divided into three major phases: early, middle, and late. Overlapping in time, they are conventionally dated from 1580 to 1650, from 1630 to 1700, and from 1680 to 1750. Baroque music forms a major portion of the "classical music" canon, and is widely studied, performed, and listened to. -

Puebla Cathedral
Construction began at the initiative of Brother Julián Garcés, bishop of Tlaxcala, between 1536 and
1539. Subsequently, the viceregal authorities ordered the construction of a larger and more attractive
temple. This project was entrusted in 1575 to the architect Francisco Becerra. -

The War of the Reunions
The War of the Reunions (1683–84) was a conflict between France, Spain and the Holy Roman Empire, with limited involvement by Genoa. It can be seen as a continuation of the War of Devolution (1667–1668) and the Franco-Dutch War (1672–1678), which were driven by Louis XIV's determination to establish defensible boundaries along France's northern and eastern borders. -
