Moves to Stockholm
Harald closes his hair salon in Linköping and moves to Stockholm sometime in 1941 or early 1942. He rents a room from Mrs. P., and starts a new hair salon located on Lundagatan in Södermalm. -
Opens new hair salon
Not sure about the dates, but once in Stockholm, Harald opens a hair salon in Södermalm. In 1943, he closes it and takes over Damfrisering Centrum, which is located on S:t Eriksgatan 37B. This salon is later renamed Salon Madeleine. -

Harald and Constance travelled to Rouen on a small freighter and continued by train to Paris. After a month studying in Paris, they continued by train to Beaune, Basel, Lago di Como, Verona and Venice. -

Train from Paris to Beaune
Harald and Constance took a train to Beaune near the Swiss border, where Constance's sister Åsa worked as an au pair and langugage teacher. Harald fell ill and was hostpitalized at Hospice de Beaune, which had been a hospital since ca 1300. He did several drawings and at least one oil painting was inspired by this visit. -
To Basel, Verona and Lago di Como with train
The date is a guess. Harald and Constance visited Constance's sister Åsa, who was working as an au-pair ner Chalon-sur-Saône in Bourgogne. Harald fell ill and was hospitalized at the ancient hospital in Beaune. After the stay, they continued by train to Basel, and then Lago di Como, and Verona. -

Leads a fight for esthetic improvement of Blackeberg
Harald became one of the leaders of a local political "revolt" against a stonewall that separated the two parts of Blackeberg's center. He gave many interviews, gavde speeches and presented a drawing with his vision for a plaza inspired by his trips to southern Europe. The fight ended in a partial victory after about a year. The wall was cut in half at considerable expense. -

Buys summer cottage on northern Öland
Harald and Constance bought a small two room summer cottage on an acre of land overlooking the Baltic Sea from the farmer Sture Pettersson in Sandy, a small town on the Baltic island "Öland". The cottage had no electricity, a hand pump for water, a wood fired stove and an outhouse as the only toilet. Over the years, it was expanded to a bungalow with five bedrooms, one living room and a studio with panorama windows. -

He travelled to Spain in 1962 and took a ferry to Tangier in Marocco. Dad told me that everybody got really sea sick on the trip and many threw up, but dad was in good spirits and enjoyed a sandwich on the boat. I don't know the date for the trip. -
