    When: The end of the 18th century. September 16, 1810 through 1821.
    Where: Dolores, Guanajuato Mexico
    Why: The Mexicans didn't want to join the Spaniards and they wanted freedom.
    So What? It's important because Mexico won independence from Spain.
  • Texas Independance from Mexico

    Who: Texas and Mexico
    What: Texas wanted independence from Mexico but Mexico didn't want to lose Texas.
    When: October 2, 1835 - April 21, 1836
    Where: Coahuila and Texas
    Why: Texas didn't want to be a part of Mexico.
    So What? It's important because Texas won the battle and became an independent state from Mexico.

    What: The U.S. and Mexico went to war.
    When: 1845 Where: Rio Grande, California, New Mexico Why: Mexico owed over $3 million to the U.S., so the U.S. proposed Mexico to give up California and New Mexico and El Rio Grande to be the border between the U.S. and Mexico. So What? The U.S. got the land they wanted and more. Mexico didn’t owe money to the U.S.

    What: Mexico giving up California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada.
    When: 1848
    Where: Texas border, Rio Grande, California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada.
    Why: To keep the peace of Mexico and the U.S.
    So What? The U.S. paid for war damage and owned more land.
  • Gadsden Purchase

    Who: President Franklin Pierce (U.S) and James Gadsden (MX) What: U.S. paid $10 million for the South of Gila River and El Paso, California. When: 1853 Where: Tucson, Arizona and the border of Mexico and the U.S. Why: The president (Franklin Pierce) signed the treaty to expand the railroad to the pacific. So What? It is important because the U.S. was able to expand to the West and El Rio Grande was made the official border.
