    This is very significant as it put up to 12 million people out of work, 1616 banks were bankrupt and more than 23,000 people committed suicide as a result of the Wall Street Crash. It had a massive impact on the whole world, not only in the USA. It was also one of the major reasons why America had its great depression. However Japan leaving the League of Nations only shows how insignificant and powerless the League of Nations really was depicted.

    Japan invades Manchuria
    Japan invading Manchuria signifies how powerless the League of Nations actually were as they were unable to stop Japan's aggression. It was the very start of Japan's search for an empire. This then continued which led to the attack on Pearl Harbour which was very important as it led America to come into the war. However the Anschluss with Austria is Germany breaking the treaty of Versailles which didn't affect the whole world.

    The Pearl Harbour attack was significant as it was the 1st attack on American soil. This led to America coming into the war, which lead to the atomic bombs which ended The Second World War. 2,400 soldiers were killed and many more were murdered. The Fall of Singapore was important as it made Australians vulnerable without a major navy base but it didn't lead to the end of the Second World War.

    The Nagasaki bomb was significant as it showed the whole world the power of the USA. It ended the Second World War as it made Japan surrender because as many as 100,000 people died. The blitz, however, was important but not as important as it only affected the British as it killed 43,000 people and half of London.

This is a huge idea which led to the Martin Luther King speech and many more movements to try and get blacks as equal as whites. This also led to the Referendum in 1967 as the idea of whites and blacks should be equal.

    This was the first time shown to the general public how the worlds use of chemicals can have harmful effects beyond what may be intended. This is one of the reasons why DOT was banned in so many areas of the world. She told the community about the dangers and created a movement to look after the community and the environment and not only thinking about ourselves. The saving of the river was from the idea which 'Silent Spring' comes under.

    It was the closest the world ever came to a nuclear war. A nuclear war would be catastrophic as so many innocent people will die instantly. It is also significant as America hasn't invaded Cuba since. Some say that it leads to the USSR being less aggressive and letting there USA gain strength to win the cold war. Whereas China is only important to China and doesn’t have a huge impact with the rest of the world except for there being another communist country.

    This was the visualization of the end of the cold wer e as no bombs were ever dropped by either sids in the cold war. It once completely surroundedd West Berlin and divided the German capital between East and West, communism and the free world. Symbolises the oppression and the Cold war.
