8:46 AM- Attack on north Twin Tower
By 8:46 AM, the first flight had been hijacked and was directed right to the North Twin Tower. -
9:03 AM- Attack on south Twin Tower
The second hijacked plane is crashed directly into the South Tower killing everyone aboard. -
9:37 AM- Attack at The Pentagon
The third hijacked flight is flown right into the west side of the Pentagon in Washington DC killing nearly 200 in total. -
9:42 AM- All flights grounded
All American and Canadian airliners were navigated to nearby airports and grounded. -
10:07 AM- 3rd plane crashes and burns
After passengers and crew members aboard the fourth hijacked flight contact friends and family and learn about the attacks in New York and Washington, they mount an attempt to retake the plane. In response, hijackers deliberately crash the plane into a field in Pennsylvania, killing all passengers and crew aboard. -
10:28 AM- The collapse of the towers
The North and South World Trade Centers collapse, killing everyone inside who was trapped. -
8:30 PM- President Bush addresses nation
President Bush addresses the nation, calling the attacks “evil, despicable acts of terror” and declaring that America, its friends and allies would “stand together to win the war against terrorism.” -
Osama Bin Laden Claims Responsibility
About 3 years after the 9/11 attacks, the leader of Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden claims official responsibility for the attacks on American soil. -
Bin Laden's Death
In the early morning hours of May 2nd, SEAL Team Six raids the compound they believed Laden to be in. Osama was shot dead.
