Monarch of Saudi Arabia broads USS Quincy
Here was the start of America's involvement in the Middle East. Aboard this vessel a bargain was struck that Saudi Arabia would provide cheap oil for America in exchange for protection. This agreement marked the beginning for every thing America would do in the Middle East to protect the oil there. Seance America was now protecting Saudi Arabia for their Oil any other reign in the Middle East that had Oil would become the focus of American Foreign Policy. -
New Iran Government
The CIA helps over through the Iran government of Mossadeq because they were trying to nationalize British presence in the Iran Oilfields. They install a new government under the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlevi who ruled as an absolute Monarch for the next 25 years. The Shah was an unpopular leader who imprisoned, tortured, and killed his political opponents. Do to this the government was over thrown again doing the Iranian Revolution. -
US supports Ba'ath party
In 1963 the US had become concerned about the growing influence of communism in Iraq. They then contacted a group attempting to overthrow the government the Ba'ath party which was about to be headed by Saddam Hussain. America gave the Ba'ath party the names and addresses of known communist in the area. When they came to power they massacred these Communist without a trial or any justice at all. -

USSR Invades Afghanistan
The USSR invades Afghanistan and is meet by Mujaheddin anti Communist rebels, who had the support of the United States. At first the rebels were being pummeled by the USSR but were then supplied with Stinger missles which destroyed any aircraft that the USSR sent at the rebals. Iraq Vs Iran
Iraq invades Iran which was the start of an 8 year war with many casualties on both sides. Iraq is supported by the United States Government which gives them money, intelligence and political support. Iran is also supported by the United States which gives them Arms to fight the war. At the end of the war neither side is victorious with about 1 million Casualties. -
Iraq Invades Kuwait
Saddam Hussein invades Kuwait for their oil which outrages the United States. Ignoring a diplomatic solution the US partners with other countries and after a 6 month military build up the US launches Operation Desert Storm. For 42 day the US and others bomb the Iraqi forces with nearly 88,000 tons of bombs; about 100,000 to 200,000 are killed. During the war they rile up the Kurds and the Shi'ites, but after they were afraid of radicalization stopped them from getting weapons -

The US gives almost $100 million to forces attempting to over throw Saddam Hussein. These groups mainly were the Kurds and Shi'ites some would later become the terrorist we now fight today. -
9/11
The twin towers are blown up by Al-Qaeda and sparks national outcry. The attack was masterminded by Osama bin Laden who was hunted by america for over 10 years -
America Attacks Iraq
America invades Iraq because there are possibly weapons of mass destruction. UN inspectors have found nothing but President Bush believes that they are just in hiding. Many countries do not support a violent coarse of action, but Bush attacks anyways turning the war into a controversial topic. The Wars fighting was over but rebuilding the nation would take much longer. -
Arab Spring Syria
Sunni Arabs protesting for their rights are fired upon by the Assad Regime killing three protesters. More support for the protesters grew which the Assad Regime fought against by shooting demonstrators, abducting and torturing activist, and killing Children. Before long the demonstrators armed themselves and by 2012 it had grown into a civil war still going on today. Assad has sense then bombed rebels and civilians alike in his attempt to crush them.
