- A person could be fined as much as 10,000 dollars
- 20 years to prison if they tired to be in any war activities
- both acts were violated by the 1st amemdment
- The Sedition Act was similar to the Espionage Act because harsh penilties toward people making false statements about the war

- Britain and France still wanted to fight Germany
