8 months- OWNED LOTS OF BOOKS
My mother said I was already interested in books, so I had my mini collection of baby books she would read to me. I want to say that this is where my reading experience first began. -
5 Years, Kindergarten: ABC's.
Learned my entire alphabet, my mother said I was able to recognize my letters. My mother said I would spell about everything and asked her what it said. -
6 Years, First grade- OFFICIALLY A READER!
This is where it all truly began. Once I learned how to read there was no stopping me. I read everything in my sight! -
JUNIE B JONES ADDICTION.
I remember my first grade teacher always read the Junie B. Jones books, and I loved every single book. I made my parents buy me the entire collection when the Book Fair came around. -
READING TO MY SISTER:
Being the oldest sibling, I would make my little sister sit on the floor, and listen to me read my Junie B. Jones books, just as my first grade teacher would. -
7 years old, Second Grade: SPANISH.
My mother thought it was time for me to learn how to read in Spanish. Learning to read in Spanish was a lot easier because everything is read the way it sounds (for the most part). -
ALL ELEMENTARY, PERSONAL LIBRARY:
My parents never said no to me when I asked for a new book. Let me tell you I manage to have my own library. Book Fairs were always my favorite because my parents would purchase many books for me. I believe this was an important factor because they would encourage me to read by getting me new books. -
7th grade, TWILIGHT SAGA:
During one of my trips, I had a friend who introduced me to the Twilight. This was where my Twilight fever began. I read Twilight in 4 days, New Moon in 3 days, Eclipse in 3 days, and Breaking Dawn in a week. Altogether I read Stephenie Meyer’s Saga in about a month. -
Freshman year (high school), William Shakespeare:
Truthfully I was a big fan of Shakespeare’s plays. I know everyone in class dreaded them but I loved them. This is where I started to look into more of Shakespeare’s work. -
College years, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING:
Aside from all the college textbooks, I feel my days are spent reading. Unfortunately with my busy work and school schedule, I have not had the time to pick up a book of my choice. With the help of technology, if I have a question about how to do something or wanted to learn more about a certain subject, I simply just look it up online. Funny because sometimes I will find interesting subjects, try sharing them with my friends and they look at me like I am crazy for reading them.
