About to move to NYC
About to leave to NYC June 21,1870. I am leaving china because of poverty so I am going to NYC to get a job and have a good life. I am going through angel island to come to NYC. Then I plan on coming back to help my family when I make money in NYC. My family is desperate for money so I will either go back or send them money. -
Getting and job
Getting a job October 21, 1871. After I got through Angle island I was looking for a place to stay and I saw a place that said place for rent. The owner and I talk and he said since you have no money you can work here and use the money for the rent and save the rest for you. I ok that sounds good can I see the room. Then I brought my stuff up to the room and got settled. -
Job quility
Job quality October 23, 1871. This job is so good I get paid $12 a day. I love the costumers some are a little hard on me but for the most part they are good. I like the owner he is really nice to me and to all the costumers and all of the staff. The food is so good here and so many people come in its like 1,000 people a day. -
New friend
New friend February 10 1887. I was working late shift ugh. Well I had to wait on a table that’s been here for 20 min. They ordered and I brought it out then I cam back to see how it was they said good can we have the check I said yes. Then when I came back they said do you want to come hang out are place is right next to here. I said sure we walked there and then we walked in and there was a robber! Checking for a illness
Check for illness June 25, 1870. As I was walking through Angel island I met some people and we became friends and talk the hole way through. Then we got to the check in for illness. They checked the people in front of me which they were my friends and they had to go back because they had an illness. Then they checked me I was thinking to myself please not me to. I got threw yes!
