Lesson: Building the Portfolio Website
Class will meet in the media center lab. Teacher will instruct students on how to build and create their own websites used to house their portfolios (1 class period - 50 minutes). -

Portfolio Website Creation
Class will take place in the media center lab for 2 days. Students will use GAFE to create their own portfolios websites. (2 class periods - 1 hour 40 minutes) -
Final Media Center Day
Class will meet in the media center. (1 class period - 50 minutes)
1. Students will add finishing touches to Portfolios Websites (make sure you've given Mrs. Crisera privledges to "view and edit" your portfolio).
2. Students will explore Google Drive, and uploading documents, videos, and images from Google Drive to their portfolio.
3. Students will create their first journal entry in their portfolio. -
Lesson: Portfolio Website and your electronic device
Students will learn how to navigate their portfolio websites using their personal electronic device. (1 class period - 50 minutes)
1. Open your portfolio website on your phone/device.
2. Load Google Drive as an App (if not already installed on device).
3. Experiment with updating your portfolio.
4. Experiment with uploading documents, videos, and images to your portfolio using Google Drive on your phone/device.
5. Create a new journal entry from your phone/device. -
Lesson: Choreographing a solo for your Portfolio
Teacher will present information, examples, requirements, due dates (on timeline) and rubric for solo choreography. (30 minutes)
1. Activity: Brainstormimg (5 minutes)
2. Use brainstorm ideas to come up with a theme for your solo. (7-10 minutes)
3. Homework: Journal entry in portfolio: 1. Theme for your solo. 2. List your 6 best technical dance movements. -

In-class time to choreograph a solo for your Portfolio. (8 class periods) -
First Presentation of Solo
Present the first 30 seconds of choreography from your solo to the class. Make sure to include at least 3 of your best technical dance moves. Class and teacher will provide verbal feedback. (1 class period - 50 minutes) -
Second Presentation of Solo
Present 45 seconds of choreography from your solo to the class. Make sure to include corrections based on feedback given from 1st presentation and at least 4 of your best technical dance moves. Class and teacher will provide verbal feedback. (1 class period - 50 minutes) -
Third Presentation of Solo/Experimentation with Video
Present 1 minute of choreography from your solo to the class. Make sure to include corrections based on feedback given from 1st & 2nd presentations and all of your best technical dance moves. Have another student video your solo using your phone/device. Class and teacher will provide verbal feedback. (1 class period - 50 minutes)
Homework: Add video to Google Drive. Upload video to Portfolio. -
Final Presentation of Solo/Video
Class will take place in auditorium for final presentation of solo projects. Another student will video your solo on your phone/device. (1 class period - 50 minutes)
Homework: Upload video of final solo performance to your Portfolio. -
Lesson: Writing an Artist Statement
Teacher will present information, examples, requirements, due dates (on timeline) and rubric for artist statement. (30 minutes)
Activity: Read through questions presented to create your artist statement. Spend 2 minutes answering each question in a notebook. (20 minutes) -
Outline for Artist Statement DUE
Outline for artist statment due posted on Portfolio Website by midnight. -
2nd Draft of Artist Statement DUE
Using the corrections and feedback given by Mrs. Crisera on your outline, write a draft of your artist statement. Due posted to your Portfolio Website by midnight. -
Final Artist Statement DUE
Using the corrections and feedback given by Mrs. Crisera on your outline and draft, update your paper to become your final artist statement. Due posted to your Portfolio Website by midnight. -
Lesson: Headshots and Dance Poses
Teacher will present information, examples, requirements, due dates (on timeline) and rubric for headshots and dance poses. (30 minutes)
Activity: Experiment with different dance poses in front of the mirror. Have another student take a picture of your dance pose with your phone/device. Upload that photo to your portfolio website. (20 minutes) -

Headshots and Dance Poses
The photography class will be taking headshots and dance poses for our class. Come prepared with practiced headshot and dance poses in appropriate costuming. (2 class periods - 1 hour 40 minutes) -
Headshot and Dance Pose DUE
The photography class has given you multiple photographs of your headshot and dance pose. Choose the best headshot and the best dance pose and upload them to your Portfolio Website by midnight. -
Lesson: Creating a Dance Resume
Teacher will present information, examples, requirements, due dates (on timeline) and rubric for dance resume. (30 minutes)
Activity: In a journal entry on your phone/device, list as many dance related activities, master classes, performances, teachers, and places as you can. This is only going to be from the start of high school. Try to come up with specific dates. List at least 3 people you would use as a dance reference. (20 minutes) -
First Draft Dance Resume DUE
First draft of your dance resume is due posted to your portfolio website by midnight. -
Final Draft of Dance Resume DUE
Using the corrections and feedback given by Mrs. Crisera on your first draft, update your resume to become your final dance resume. Due posted to your Portfolio Website by midnight. -

Update and Preparation of Portfolio Website
Class will meet in media center lab. Students will go over each part of their personal Portfolio Websites. Correct, update, and clean entire portfolio. (2 class periods - 1 hour 4o minutes)
Activity: Share your portfolio with another student. Have that student critique and provide feedback on your portfolio website. Make any changes necessary. (approx. 20 minutes) -
Final Portfolio Presentation
Present final Portfolio to class. Each student will have 5 minutes to present their Portfolio Website using the overhead LCD projector in class. Share each part of your portfolio.
