A first proposal
Charles Pinckney, of South Carolina, proposed in May, a revision of the Articles of Confederation. He proposed some changes like granting Congress the power of regulate domestic and foreign commerce and change the structure of financing to raise money from the treasury of the States. But, his changes weren't approved. -
Annapolis Convention
At the Annapolis convention of September 1786, to which the representatives of five states were, it was debated for a long time about how to improve trade. There the director invited them to a convention in Philadelphia that would be very important for the future of the Articles of the Confederation. -

The director of the Annapolis Convention was Alexander Hamilton, and he invited them to a convention in Philadelphia to talk, debate and discuss about implementing new improvements in federal government. After a time of deliberations and debates, the revision plan of the Articles of the Confederation was presented. -
The ratification
On this date, Congress sent the Constitution to the States to proceed with its ratification. -
Official and formal presentation
After the ratification of the ninth state, the New Hampshire, on June 21, 1788, the Constitution of the United States of America was formally and officially announced. -
