    There are two levels on the painting, the top one containing three different heads of men and animals such as: a wolf, a lion and a dog. these heads represent the three ages of man: youth, maturity and old age.The first stage has an old man and a wolf, which represents 'old age'. the second stage in has a middle aged man above and a lion underneath, this represents the stage 'Maturity'. The third stage is to the right side has a young man above and a dog under, this represents 'Youth'.
