World War 1
World War 1 is considered to be a cause of the Russian war. This is because it gave the people an incentive to rebel. As a result strikes became more likely and the people resented Nicholas even more. The demand for factory production of war supplies angered the urban workers and this led to riots and more strikes. Nicholas leading the army in the battles was bad as he was blamed for when they lost.The soldiers whom thought to be loyal turned on Nicholas as there was such a small food supply.Many people carved for the war to end as it affected in ways words cannot describe.There were great shortages of food and supplies which led to more riots . -
The Tsar
Nicholas's wife Sarina was left in charge of the Parliament. This was a very unpopular decision as many thought that she was a German spy and as a result resented her. This also led to her being mistreated as a result of her German background. -
Political opposition
Political parties wanted Russia to be run in a new way which led to them gaining much support as the peasants and urban workers also craved a new system. This is because it is unfair to work the hours they do yet get paid a small amount in return. Over time, even the soldiers joined them and support grew for the social democrats -
The Tsar being abandoned
On 8th March, food shortages made the soldiers unwilling to fight since they weren't getting anything out of it. It also didn't help that they were forced to fight in the first place. This led to the Tsar abandoning the Tsar on the 12th March. The soldiers mutinied and continued to riot. -
The Parliament being biased
As we all know, only the rich could stand in Parliament. This meant that they could be biased as they could sway their decisions into their favor resulting in them being richer and more powerful. In simpler words the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. This led to more strikes -
Resputin
As Nicholas's son was near death, he sought the help of Resputan who supposedly had healing abilities. He somehow managed to calm to boy and relieve him of his pain. As a result, Resputan was put into power having no leading abilities. This led to the people being infuriated and as a result them killing Resputan at a "party" -
Peasents
As a result of inflation, prices had increased four times as much as they had in 1914. This meant that peasants had to pay these rising prices yet only sell their goods for lower prices. As a result they hoarded their food and refused to sell it to anyone. People working in factories also wanted higher wages. -
