The growth of Islamism was a regional issue. Many countries began to notice the growth of Islamism. People who practiced Islam though that some people were straying. Also Islamic extremists attacked regional governments and innocent civilians, to promote their change. -

Egypt made a big "declaration" in 1977, they wanted peace. Later in 1978 they finally came to an agreement called the Camp David Accords, It ended 30 years of tension between Egypt and Israel. -

The Yom Kippur War was a surprise attack against Israel by Egypt and Syria. This war caused oil prices to skyrocket. It took weeks to end this and come to a agreement to cease fire on both sides. -
Palestinian Unrest
Palestinian Arabs continued their struggle For Nationhood. Palestinian nationalism was strong. Palestinian resentment of Israeli occupation and this produced a Intifada. This caused so much tension.
