The Texas Revolution
The Texas Revolution was a rebellion between Mexico and Texas colonists due to the abolishment of slavery by the Mexican government. The increase of American migrants in Texas was also a reason. The Texas Revolution ended on April 21, 1836. This rebellion resulted in the independence of Texas. -
Mexican-American War
The Mexican-American War was a war between Mexico and the United States. This war was triggered off of the annexation of Texas and a dispute over whether Texas ended at the Nueces River or the Rio Grande. This war ended on February 2, 1848 when the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed. Mexico accepted it’s boundary at the Rio Grande. -
Battle of Fort Sumter
The Battle of Fort Sumter was caused because South Carolina could not tolerate a federal fort blocking. South Carolina had control of Fort Sumter after secession. The Battle of Fort Sumter marked an official beginning of the American Civil War. -
