    This rebellion was led by nat turner as he and 70 slaves fought and killed more than 50 white people instigating mass panic and fear in white southerners across the country. As a result of this rebellion, around 200 unassociated black people were killed by local militias. social red

    The Kansas-Nebraska act was an act that established the territories of Kansas and Nebraska as well as allowed them to vote on slavery. This bill was so controversial that it later led to bleeding Kansas, which was a flood of pro and anti-slavery voters who were trying to sway the vote. social/political red

    This manifesto was a plan for annexing Cuba in order to improve the slave trade and a threat of war to Spain if they resisted. However, when northern abolitionists found out, they quickly shot it down. political red

    John Brown's Raid on Harper's Ferry
    Abolitionist John Brown, along with around 20 other black men, attempted to raid Harpers Ferry for guns and other weapons in the hope of instigating a rebellion and ending slavery. They failed, and many of the party, like John Brown, were hung. social red

    This compromise was a bill that attempted to protect slavery with laws like preventing any future congress from ending slavery and compensating slave owners for runaways. Most importantly, it would have reimplemented the Missouri compromise line allowing for more slave states. political red
