African Slaves
On an unspecified date in 1916, the first ever shipment of African Slaves landed in Virginia, soon after the founding of the first English colony in Jamestown. In result to this imput of new slaves, an economy boost came due to more tobacco production. -
Opachan Indian Rebellion
Chief Opachan led a rebellion against English, when things progressed with English-Indian disputes. This rebellion marked the end of Indian peace with the colonists. However, the rebellion failed. -
The Cambridge Agreement
A pact entered into by board members which moved control of the company to the colony. It also led directly to the foudning colony (Massachusetts Bay colony was charterd by London merchants). -
Pequot War
An inevitable conflict between the Native Americans and English occured, resulting in what was called the 'Pequot War". After some pequots killed an English trader, soldiers from Massachusetts, Connecticut, and loyal Indians, attacked a Pequot vollage, slaughtering over 500 people. -
Slavery in Massachusetts
Massachusetts was the first slave-holding colony in New England, and this time is important, because in (approx.) 1640 African slavery began in Massachusetts. Also linked to Pequot War. -
Indian Rebellions to Indian Reservations
Another failed uprising led to the remaining 2,000 Indians to be forced to sign a treaty which consigned them to reservations in western Virginia (making it a royal colony). -
King Philip's War
Native Americans launched their biggest attack on New England colonists. (King Philip's War), led by Metacom "King Philip" (chief). Almost ended English settlements in New England. (lasted 2 years) -

The Great Awakening
Americans became super religious. It was a revitalication of religious feeling. There was Presbyterian, baptists, etc... Religion became more emotional. -
Ohio Company
The govenor of Virginia awarded a huge land grant to the Ohio Company, which wasn't appealing to Native Americans and partially led to the 7 years war. -

7 Years War
Main cause of the 7 years war was about economics. According to Winston Churchill, the First World War fought in the middle of the 18c, and that the beginning of the 7 Years war indirectly contributed to the beginning of WWI. -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris was the conclusion to the 7 Years War. Also, at this time, the British Parliament issued the Proclamation Line, which forbid settlers west of the Appalachian mountains (reserved for Indians). -
Sugar Act
The first tax called the Sugar Act was used as a means to repay war debts. -
Stamp Act
It was installed as another opressive taxation and said that all printed material had to have a stamp on it that was purchased, -
Boston Massacre
This was a protest to abolish the taxations which were getting out of hand. -
The Tea Act
This year was the implementation of the Tea Act where the cost of tea was reduced but so was the quality. This directly led to the Boston Tea Party.
