This act required all Africans to carry a pass-book which is somewhat like a passport. -
Africans Revolt
A large group of Africans in Sharpeville revolted by not carrying around their pass-books. Since they did this, the government declared a state of emergency in this region. -
Biko Dies
When Biko died, it was a spark that started. Everyone heard about the death and how he died just because of his color. -
Nelson Mandelon gets out of Prison
Nelson stayed in prison for 27 years, mainly because he was black. -
Apratheid Ended
President F.W. de Klerk announced the end to the aparthied. And on June 17, 1991, the apartheid laws were revoked. -
