The Roman Empire Collapses
The Empire of Rome splits in two changing Europe forever while the western part competely colapases the eastern part is formed into the Byzantine Empire with its new captial of Constantinople.

First Islamic attack on Constantinople
At the height of the Arab-Byzantine wars the arabs closed in on the Byzantine empires captial. The Byzantine Empire manged to destory the arab navy using a new invention the liquid subtance known as Greek fire. The Arab army was also defeated on land forceing the arabs back away from the city. This attack started the legend of Constantinople of being impossible to capture this event caused nationalism envoking other achompishments. -

First Crusade Begins
Pope Urban II ordered a crusade to Jerusalem from the lands of France and Germany to recapture the holy lands from the islamic empire. It really started as a pilgrimage but ending up as a miltary expendtion by Roman Catholic Europe. The holy lands were taken in the muslum conquest of Levent resulting in the recapture of Jerusalem. Today it is important because it what when the city of Jerusalem is currently in jewish control rather than Islamic control of the catholic holy city. -

The Magna Carta was signed on the plane at Runnymede on june 15, 1215. Its concept of government accountability and protection of indivual rights have made it one of the most important ocuments in history. Marco Polo
Marco left on a 24 year voyage spanning Central and Wesrtern Asia. The Polos were merchants who dealt with gems and rare items like silk and spices. The polos became emissaries for the Mongal Emperor Kublai Kahn who the met and befriended him in earlyer on. He later became a tax collector for him. Him and his family could go whereever they wanted around the empire and became very rich. The importance of Marco to modern history was that he insipered many other explores with his do or die approch. -

The kingdoms of France and England gripped at one another because King Edward III belived that he was the right heir through his mother isabella, Insted of Edward the french picked Philp VI as their king. The black death slaughtes 1.5 million nearly 45% of mainland europes population. It began in asia spreading to england and no medical knowledge was in england at the time to deal with this diease. It was thought to be spread by flees and rats but later evidence has found it was caused by airborne germs. Once the diease spread though the lungs it was then spread by coughing and sneezing. In 1349, 6/10 people in london were dead. It took only 3 days for the average person to die from the diease. -

Following a 57 day seige a massive overwhelming army stormed the captial like a fire. Everyone was killed, raped, beat this was a brutal massicare of everything living Constantinople. It was a dramtic way to end the citys untakeable walled in pennisula title. The cruel and quick offensive shocked the restitance into submission. People were brutaly murdered.
