Mesoamerican Empires (Aztec and Inca)
Aztecs dominated most of central and southern Mexico through force and the tribute system. Both Aztec and Inca empires were conquered by Spanish Conquistadors. -

Tang and Song Dynasties
Tang (618-906) and Song (960-1279) were dynasties of China and together were considered the "Golden Age" of China. This was when paper money, tea, gunpowder, the compass, and printing were all introduced. -

King was at the top, Lords/Barons handled sections of land, Knights protected the lords and peasants, and Peasants/Serfs worked for the Lords to provide food and other services. -

Was a dynasty that ruled over the Islamic Empire at its peak Leaders were called the Caliph. 3rd successful caliph and most leaders were proclaimed to be descendants of Muhammad. -

An Islamic Empire that stretched over large parts of India. Five Dynasties ruled over it (Mamluk, Khalji, Tughlaq, Sayyid, and Lodi). -

Mongol Empire
Led and founded by Genghis Khan. They were a group of absolutely fierce horseback riding and bow-wielding warriors. They controlled the Silk Road and under their rule, keeping things safe and secure. -

The largest Empire in West Africa and was renowned for the wealth of its rulers. -

Yuan Dynasty
At this point in time, China was under Mongol control and was established by Kublai Khan. Though it fell into internal rebellion when the Mongol Empire fell apart. -

Ottoman Empire
They were known for their achievement in art, science, and medicine. Fell due to the industrial revolution and couldn't keep up despite the reforms that were made. -

European Renaissance
Time of the arts. Famous renaissance artist popped up around this time, philology became more prevalent, and theatre became a huge deal. -

Bubonic Plague
The deadliest plague that was known to Europe. Killed off 1/3 of the population. Identifiable by the black boils on a victim's body. -

Ming Dynasty
During this time China's population doubled due to the plantation of foods that were easy to store. It was also known for trying to branch out with relations with other countries. -

Age of Exploration
God, gold, glory. It had some good and bad. Places (like Africa) were invaded. However, this Age of Exploration helped with the economy and such. -

Atlantic Slave Trade
The time period where because of the demand of workers in the new world, people fro Africa were kidnapped, forced onto a ship (with horrid conditions mind you), and forced to work. -

Portuguese Trading Post Empire
Designed not to conquer but rather set up trading posts around Africa to control the waterway and also to trade easier. -

Age of Exploration
The time when the technology to navigate the seas became more prevalent. Mostly, people wanted a sea-route to Asia and also wanted control of the sea by setting up shop in Africa. -

Spanish Colonial Empire
Spain was one of the countries that colonized America. Their empire expanded across the Caribian, half of South America, most of Central America, and some of North America. Remember conquistadors. -

Thanks to Martin Luther, the catholic church lost much of its power. Martin Luther wrote the 95 theses. -

Mughal Empire
It was an early-modern empire that controlled most of South Asia between the 16th-19th century. Ruled most of India and Pakistan. Was a Muslim country. -

Worked similar to the feudal system in Europe. It defined Japan's history by centralizing the power of the nation's government. -

Was the least successful dynasty. It was also the last dynasty. Collapsed due to horrible leadership and civil unrest. -

This was a time of knowledge, science, and math. Philosophy was a huge deal, religion, and God too, and humanity was also studied. -

Industrial Revolution
This was a time when the world greatly improved with technology. Work started shifting to factory work. Products were cheaper to both make and sell and were much quicker to create. This led to the abuse of higher-ups making people work outrageous hours and making children work. This was fixed later on. -

The American colonies, fed up with the outrageous taxes, first initiated the Boston Tea Party. After Britain retaliated with The Intolerable Acts to punish the colonies. This was the 13 colonies breaking point, however, and so they declared war on Britan. -

It started due to the economy crashing and burning due to King Louis the 14th and his uh...interesting ways of partying and his reckless habits. Ended when Napolean overthrew the government. -

This was the first and only successful slave revolt. They were inspired by the American Revolution and were frustrated with their horrid treatment. -

The Ottoman Empire's attempt to accept more of the industrial revolution. They tried to modernize their army, way of life, and products while still keeping tradition. This failed. -

Two wars that occured between the Great Qing and British Government due to the British imposition of the opium trade in China. -

Also known as the Taiping Revolution. It was a revolution against China. -

The indian rebellion of 1857 against the rule of the British East Indian Company. This rebellion failed untimantly though. -

Brought about the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate which returned control to direct imperial rule under Mutsuhito (empower). This time period brought modernization and industrial change. -

This was a meeting to regulate European colonization in Africa.
