    Tang and Song Dynastys

    The Tang Dynasty was succeeded from the Sui dynasty. Throughout their rein from 616-907 A.D, they expanded china's territories in the west and revived confucianism, civil service exam, and bureaucracy. Once they fell, the Song dynasty took over through the years 960 AD-1279 CE. This dynasty was founded by Zhao Kuangyi and conquered most of central China, but was taken over by the mongols.

    Islamic Golden Age

    In the Islamic Golden Age, the abbasid Caliphate was created in baghdad. The rise of the Islamic religion was at a high here where they had amazing accomplishments in math, science. and medicine. Some examples of this are Al Razi wrote books related to medicine and had the world's best hospitals, Iban sana wrote canon of medicine, and Al Khwarizmi created Algebra.The Islamic religion split into two groups, Sunni and Shia.

    Feudalism

    Feudalism is a hierarchy of loyalty to the lords. The pyramid starts at the bottom with peasants/serfs, then merchants, farmers, and craftsmen, then Knights and vassals, the kings, then lords. The land was distributed to the kings by the lord in exchange for protection and loyalty.

    Mongol Empire and Yuan Dynasty

    The Mongol Empire was a nomadic group that conquered most of China with their leader Kublai Khan. They used fear and intimidation to rule over china. In the time the mongols ruled, they created Pax Mongolia which created a safe passage for merchants on the silk road. This cause the economy to go up but was quickly wiped out because of the Bubonic plague.

    Ottoman Empire

    The Ottoman Empire was one of the longest-lasting dynasties.The Ottoman Empire reached a high throughout 1520-1566. This was in the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. They ended up falling because they did not evolve with the rest of the world and was unable to protect their territory anymore.

    Bubonic Plague and European Renaissance

    The bubonic plague was spread by fleas and 1/3 of Europeans died from it.People with the disease's symptoms were swollen lymph nodes, ever, chills, headache, fatigue, and muscle aches.Most people lost faith in christianity because they thought that if God was real, he would help. This caused the scientific revolution. This Renaissance was cause to show the lead of self expression after the bubonic plauge.

    Ming Dynasty

    When the Ming dynasty was created in 1363, it was founded by Hong Wu. They brought back the civil service exam, a new law system, purged all mongol remnants, and eliminated trade to expand agriculture. The 3rd emperor of the ming dynasty was the most important. He relocated the capital to Beijing and constructed the forbidden city. This was the palace for the emperor.

    This was an age where countries decided to start to expand territories and find new trade routes. Bartolomeu Dias started the Age of exploration by finding a trade route from Europe to Asia.

    Spanish Colonial Empire

    The Spanish empire in the Americas was formed after conquering indigenous empires and claiming large stretches of land. This was also during the age of exploration. They also explored half of South America, most of Central America, and much of North America.

    Portuguese Trading Post Empire

    Portugal did not want to conquer territories, instead, they wanted to control trade routes. This would force merchant vessels to call at fortified trading sites and pay duties there. They taxed merchants who passed through their trading routes.

    The reformation was the turning point for christianity. Once the bubonic plague faded away, people stopped believing in the pope. Martin Luther was the first to believe that god had a different plan then what the pope said. This started to cause different branches of christianity to pop up.

    The Qing Dynasty is the last dynasty to rule china from 1636-1911. They practice Isolationism just like the Ming dynasty but not as strict. They allowed merchants to negotiate trade. The 4th emperor expanded China's territory into central asia and killed rebellious villages if needed.
