Dionysius Exiguus publishes the Dionysius Exiguus' Easter table. This initiated the Anno Domini era, used for the Gregorian and Julian calendars. -

Greek and Roman Era
Naming of the city by the Emperor Constantine as the capital of the Roman Empire (as Nova Roma, later Constantinople). -
Industrial Revolution
The steam engine is invented. Thomas Newcomen invents the first steam engine. It is not very useful yet, but the idea of using steam to make machines go will be important to the Industrial Revolution. -
Morse Code
