    A tax on people who tried to vote. specifically targeted black voters in the south.
  • Plessy v Ferguson

    This Supreme Court case held that segregation laws do not violate the 14th amendment, as long as the facilities were equal in quality.

    women were granted the right to vote, much to the disapproval of surprisingly a lot of women, who did not want to be included in the tax code. the amendment has had a huge effect on voting in the united states.

    White primaries were primary elections held in the Southern United States in which only white voters were permitted to participate. specifically, in 1923 Texan democrats held that only whites could vote in their primary election

    Established that racial segregation in public schools is unconstitutional.

    prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin

    colleges cannot use race as a basis of admissions to their school since it violates the 14th amendment
