    Another Big Quarrel
On September 2, 1942, Anne Frank wrote in her book that Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan had another terrific quarrel. She had never seen one like it before. Anne said that the cause of their quarrel was so trivial, that it was a pure waste of breath. While the Van Daans were having a terrific quarrel, the Germans were preparing there troops to attack the city of Stalingrad. This great battle between the Germans and the Russians began on September 3 1942.

    Mrs. Van Daan is Unbearable
Anne Frank talks about Mrs. Van Daan. She tells us that she is unbearable. She always gets blow-ups from her, and she is always pestering her. One time, she didn't want to wash up the pans because there were food left in them. While Mrs. Van Daan was being unbearable, the women and children of Stalingrad were evacuated from the dying city, where Germans had dropped bombs.

    Visiting The Van Daans
Anne Frank went upstairs to visit the Van Daans. She went to have a chat with them like she does occasionally. The Van Daans and Anne Frank talked about Peter. She told them that she didn't liked being pawed by boys and she would like it if Peter would stop stroking her cheek. While talking about Peter and other things, they were also eating moth biscuits and drinking lemonade. While Anne Frank was talking with the Van Daans, a great battle was happening. It was the "Battle of Alem el Halfa".

Why Do Grownups Quarrel so Easily
On September 28, Anne Frank is wondering why do grownups quarrel easily. She thinks she is always the subject of discussion. She is tired of being frequently criticized and wonders if she is really as bad as everybody says. During Anne Frank was writing her book, the Japanese continue their retreat back down the Kokoda Track in New Guinea. There was a war against Japan and Australia. In this war, 6 600 people died.
  • Finding Places to Wash Ourselves

    Finding Places to Wash Ourselves
On September 29, Anne Frank's family and the Van Daans are each looking for a place to wash themselves. Each member has a place. Peter uses the kitchen in spite of it's glass door, Mr. Van Daan's place is right upstairs, Anne's dad washes himself in the private office, her mom behind a fire guard in the kitchen, Margot and Anne have chosen the front office and Mrs. Van Daan doesn't bath at all. While everyone were searching for a place to bath, a Japanese plane bombed Mount Emily again.
