Anne explains that her fountain pen cannot write anymore so she does a “recap of its life”. She starts by mentioning that she got her pen at nine years old. At eleven years old, unfortunately, she couldn’t bring it to school. However, when she entered the Jewish Lyceum at the age of twelve, she was again allowed to use it, which made her happy. At thirteen, she brought it at the “Secret Annexe” and a couple months later, it “died”. It fell with the bad beans, and ended up in the fire.
