After her sister Margot got a letter ordering her to go to a work camp in Germany her and her family go into hiding behind her father's business.They left a false trail saying they were heading to Switzerland in order to stay undetected. They hid in a secret apartment behind a bookcase. -

After 25 months in hiding the family and others who took refuge in the secret apartment were caught by the Gestapo(German Secret State Police.) -
Death
She died on this date in Lower Saxony, Germany in a Bergen- Belsen concentration camp along with her sister. -
Her Diary
Her diary was then found and given to her father (the only member who survived) he then gave her diary to be published firts in the Metherlands in 1947 then published in the U.S. in 1952 and "has been labeled a testament to the indestructible nature of the human spirit."
