    This game was developed and released by the japanese videogame company Nintendo in 2001. It is a social simulation game created by Katsuya Eguchi and Hisashi Nogami. In Animal Crossing, the player embodies a human who lives in a village with anthropomorphic animals that do several activities such as fishing, insect catching or fossil hunting thoroughout the whole game.
  • Animal Crossing: Wild World

    This edition of the franchise, "Wild World", was released mainly for the Nintendo DS, it was it's first game to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Later on it re-released for the Wii U Virtua Console but it couldn't use this feature wasn't available due to the discontinuation of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

    City Folk, known as Let's Go to the City in Europe and Australia. It was released for the Nintendo Wii, and it was the first in the game to use the Wii Speak, a device that allowed players to speak to each other.

    This game was released for the Nintendo 3DS. For the first time in the franchise's history, players are appointed to the role of Mayor. The last update this game received was in 2016.

    Happy Home Designer is more a commmunity simulation type of videogame, unlike the rest of the series. It was also released for Nintendo 3DS and it was the first spin-off of the series. Your goal in this game is to design house for the villagers based on their requests. This game has a 66 out of 100 score in Metacritic, so it has mixed reviews.

    Amiibo Festival is a party videogame released for the Wii U, unlike it's predecessors. Unfortunately, this game didn't have a lot of sucess between the critics.

    Pocket Camp was announced with big news: it was the first Animal Crossing mobile game. It was released in 2017, and it has a rating of 72 out of 100 in Metacritic.
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons

    This game was released for the latest Nintendo videoconsole, the Nintendo Switch, on 2020, though it's release was planned for 2019. It became the first videogame in history to achieve 5 million digital sales within a month, but besides, this was attributed to the COVID 19 pandemic. It also was awarded with the Best Family Game at The Game Awards.
  • New Horizons DLC: Happy Home Paradise

    In October 2021, a new paid DLC for New Horizons was announced, and it was released on November 2021. It was considered a sequel to Happy Home Designer. In Happy Home Paradise you have to design a vacation home for the villagers.
