PAX ROMANA
Pax Romana was a time of Roman Peace. This lasted from 22 B.C.E.- 180 C.E. The military, law, trade, and transportation were all very strong. This time helped to hold the empire together. There was a set of clear expectations, laws, and rules so everything would be in order and not all hectic. -

Julius Caesar
He ruled from 44 B.C.E.- 49 B.C.E. He joined the Roman Army in 81 B.C.E. He was the first Roman army commander to invade England. He invaded England in 55 B.C.E. and again in 54 B.C.E. Caesar had a wealthy family and was a good educated child and was good at sports. In 58 B.C.E. he went to Gaul, France and he served as Governer. He was very successful. He conqured more land for the Roman Empire. Caesar was assassinated in 44 B.C.E. by politicans. -

Claudius
In 41 C.E. the Gaurd made Claudis emperor. He ruled from 41 C.E.-54 C.E. He lacked military reputation, but he still undertook the conquest of Britian. Claudius had 2 children and a wife Messallina. Claudius died in October 13, 54 C.E. after being poisoned probably from the orders of Agrippina, who feareh him. -

Pertinax
He ruled from 126 C.E.-193 C.E. He was a wise manager, and he thought that there wasn't enough money in the treasury for the troops, so the troops resentment was compounded when the emperor made remarks to justify the amount of the donation, remarks had been preceived by the troops as a lie. Pertinax had died in the year 193 C.E. -

Marcus Aurelius
He ruled from 160 C.E.-180C.E. He was a active leader, which means that he fighted off invasions with his soldiers instead of just sitting there watching and doing nothing. Marcus chose his son Commodus to follow him as emperor before he died, but Commundus wasn't a good leader because he was self-centered and all he wanted was to party and have fun. -

Constantine
Who was Constantine?He ruled from 306 C.E.-337 C.E. Constantine took over as emperor in 324 C.E. He did many things as he ruled. For example, he reunited the west and the east, he also built a new capital at Byzantine on the Bosporus. He named the city that he created Constantinople. Reforms slowed dowm the process of collapse. These reforms were that he wanted the capitalto be a Christian city, not a pagen, so people did not work -

Vandals
The Vandals existed from 420 C.E -522 C.E. They were a german tribe. They invaded Rome in 406 C.E. The western kingdom of Rome had broken down, so them and other German tribes invaded undefended borders and attacked.They caused the western empire to collapse because of their visious behavior. -

ostrogoths
In 476 C.E. they led to the final collapse of the western part of the empire. After them, there was no more Roman Empire. Since there was no eastern part, it was now called the Byzantine Empire. The western part was called western Africa. Ostrogoths were the eastern part of the division of the Goths. The Goths had split into western and eastern just like Rome split. -
Diocletian
He ruled from 284–305 C.E. Diocletian tried to strengthen rome after what Commodus did. He split Rome into two parts the west and the east. The east was wealthier than the eastern half. He got a co-emperor named Maximan to help his rule the sides. Diocletian ruled the weatern side and Maximan ruled the eastern side. Diocletian doubled the size of the army to protect the eastern side of Rome. He also tried to improve the tax structure and he also tried to stop the economic decline of Rome. -
Commodus
He ruled from 180C.E.-192C.E. Even though he ruled for only twelve years, he still made the Roman Empire Decline. Commodus was only intrested in entertainment than government. He held chariot races and gladiator battles. He was such a bad leader, that he allowed other people to help him run the empires. Everyone hated him, even his sister. Two people tried to assassinate him, his sister and Lucilla. They both weren't sucessful. This lead to civil war.
