Romulus & Remus
These twins were born into the ruling family, their mother was the daughter of the king and their father was a god. They were thrown into the River Tiber as babies and were found and raised by a she- wolf. Later they were brought back to the humans and began ruling separate areas. Later Romulus killed Remus and names Rome after himself. -

Establishment of Roman Republic
Romans drove out the Etruscan rulers and made a new republic. Laws were voted on by 300 upper-class citizens. So it was a government lead/run by the people. -

1st Punic War
Empires started noticing and taking note that Rome was becoming very powerful. Carthage took action and started a war with Rome. It ended in 241 BCE with Rome taking the win. -
218 BCE
2nd Punic War
Rome and Carthage were battling over Spain, Sicily, North Africa, and Italy this time. Rome was led by Scipio Africanus who lead them to Victory in 201 BCE. -

3rd Punic War
Carthage and Rome were fighting yet again because Carthage was in Rome’s territory which is a violation of their treaty. So Scipio led his army into Carthage and defeated them ending the war once and for all. -

The New Ruler Julius Caesar
He was a very strong leader who helped Rome. Other leaders feared him because of his success. Caesar conquered Rome when he crossed the Rubicon River because crossing that means he reached the point where he can't return. -

Rome fell because it had so many Military, social, political and economic problems. Also, people didn't pay all their taxes. Because of their divided and weakened empire, the Huns were able to defeat the Romans.
