In 334 B.C. he defeated Persia at Granicus River. Alexander went after King Danius. The King fled, giving Alexander control over Anatolia. In 332 B.C. Alexander went to Egypt. Darius tried to fight Alexander at Guagamela but lost, so Persia's power ended. In 326 B.C.Soldiers had been fighting for 11 years and wanted to go home because of exhaustion and Alexander agreed to go back. In 332 B.C. Alexander became ill with a fever. -

Athens had a strong navy but plague swept through Athens. Sparta had a strong army and declared the war. Pericles tried to avoid battles. Athenian territory bumed. The Sicilian Expedition: name of the Athenian attempt to conquer Sicily in 415-413.
