Neolithic populations
There is little known about the Neolithic period in Egypt. According to the data collected settlements begin to appear in 6000 BC. This period also saw the first farming populations at Fayum, Merimde, and El-Badari, to Near Eastern populations. Merimde culture
The Merimde culture was in the West Nile Delta in Lower Egypt sometime between 4800-4300BC. At this point in Egyptian history they constructed oval houses close together. Badarian culture
The Barardian Culture brought the use of agriculture and a focus on the afterlife. The Badarian culture is most known for its cemeteries where the dead were buried with food and other artifacts. The King who unified Egypt: Namar
Namar, know as the first King of Egypt and also sometimes regarded as the last king of the Neolithic period. He was the king who united Upper and Lower Egypt. Namar is also connected to the Egyptian ruler Menes; some historians believe they are the same person wi2th different titles. The art in the 11th Dynasty was notable. The Theban style of art was defined by high raised relief or deep sunk relief with incised details.
