8000 BCE

This early form of recording lead to the first form of writing 'cuneiform'. They also used clay tokens to represent individual commodities. These tablets kept records like stocks of food or cattle.

Indus-Farming

4000 BCE

During this time Indus people had descovered farming and developed settlements during this time. They lived near rivers so that when they flooded the silt would cover the land and fertilize the soil. To till the ground they used wooden plows pulled by oxen.

Sumerians

3500 BCE

Sumerians created the first city states. These city states were independent of eachother. They surrounded a temple that worshipped a god or goddess they each were governed by a priest king

Giza

2560 BCE

The pyramids of Giza was created for a pharaoh khufu. It is listed as one of the seven wonders of the world, and is one of the oldest of the seven. The great pyramid took nearly 20 years to create

Sphinx

2520 BCE

The sphinx was built for a pharaoh named khafre during his reign in 2520-2494. It was also built to serve a cult in worship of a sun god and "the Dead King". This half cat half female is built directly inline with another monument to most likely represent worship to the sun god

Mohenjo daro

2500 BCE

Mohenjo daro is one of the largest Indus settlements. It had grid like structure and a sewage system. And it mysteriously had all of its people vanish

Ziggurat

2000 BCE

They were part of a temple complex. Although people don't know what they were used for but we suspect religion. They were created from mud bricks, and over time they had changed getting higher instead of staying flat

Shang dynasty

1600 BCE

The Shang dynasty was founded around 1600 BCE and lasted until 1050 BCE. This dynasty created silk from silk worms that ate mulberry leaves. The Shang dynasty had ancestor worship, this was where they prayed to their ancestors who carried their prayers to Shang Die.

Abu Simbel

1264 BCE

The abu Simbel is two large rock temples, they are actually separate temples. These temples were built for Ramsesse the second, to celebrate his victories.

The Zhou Dynasty

1100 BCE

In the Zhou dynasty they created feudalism where the emperor ruled the lands and protected people of high class inside of the empire. The Zhou dynasty was also the first to create coin money. And Confucianism was created by a philosopher named Confucius, which this philosophy means, know your role, superiors should take care of inferiors, and leaders should be educated

Warring states period

475 BCE

The warring states period started in the Qin Dynasty and lasted for almost 200 years. The warring states period was basically a giant civil war. At the end of this warring states period during the spring and autumn period the Qin dynasty united the country.
