    Shang Dynasty (1st)

    The Shang dynasty claimed the mandate of heaven to take power, but the people started to rebel and caused the dynasty to loose its reign. This dynasty was very advanced for it's time due to their musical instruments and written language. They also had glazed pottery, jade statues and ceremonial weapons, and bronze castings.

    Zhou Dynasty (2nd)

    The Zhou dynasty gained power by taking over the Shang dynasty when the people started to rebel, but lost their reign when the Qin took over some territory and enforced their laws. Some of their inventions were the compass, the kite, herbal pesticides, iron tools, and intricate irrigation systems.

    Qin Dynasty (3rd)

    The Qin dynasty gained control because of people wanting to join their unified government, but unfortunately lost their rule when people started to reclaim their independence. They accomplished a lot in this era such as they were the first ones to control all of China, be the first Chinese bureaucracy, and bult the great wall of China.

    The compass was used for navigation around China.

    Han Dynasty (4th)

    This dynasty gained its reign because they copied the Qin dynasty to get people involved, but lost their rule when invaders tragically captured them and killed them. They had the first Chinese school, beautiful art work, and paper.
