The Indian Removal Act
This act was signed by President Andrew Jackson, it authorized him to "negotiate" with Native American tribes for their relocatin to reservations so new settlements may be established. This act was a precursor to the genecidal trail of tears. -

The Trail of Tears refers to the forceful relocation of Native American people to newly made reservations. They are sometimes referred to as death marches. The people were forced to walk for days on end, thousands of people died before even reaching the reservations. -

The Assassination of President Lincoln
President Lincoln went to the theatre to see the play "Our American Cousin" at Ford's Theatre in D.C. We all know what happened to him that night. John Wilkes Booth, actor, and opponent of Lincoln snuck into the theatre and shot President Lincoln in the head. President Lincoln died the next morning from his injuries. -

The Korean War is a notable proxy war that took place during the Korean War. As a result of WWII, the Korean peninsula was split in two, China and the Soviet Union backed the Northern half and the United Nations backed the south, mostly with support from the United States. While the Korean War did not divide Korean, it's the cause of the heavily divided Korea we know today. -
