    Warren G. Harding Wins the Election
    Warren Harding entered the presidential ballot as the republican party nominee. He won with 60% of the popular vote and 75% of electoral vote. The democrat nominee, James Cox, won only a few southern states.

    Teapot Dome Scandal
    There was reserves of oil for the countries navy that companies were not allowed to use. Despite this Harding's secretary of interior, Albert Fall, used his power to make extra money on this reserve. He sold off the oil to a the company Mammoth Oil.

    During a trip in San Francisco Harding died from a heart attack. The vice president Calvin Coolidge took his place. After Harding's death numerous scandals his friends and appointed secretaries were involved in were uncovered. This information seriously damaged Warren's reputation.

    Jazz Singer was the first feature-length Hollywood film to use spoken dialogue as part of the action. This captivated the attention of the public and made revolutions for movies. The company Warner Brothers made the movie.

    A document that the U.S. and France started. Its purpose was to outlaw war not used in self defense and make the nations around the world settle disputes peacefully. Despite most nations signing the document, it was not very successful due to the inability to enforce the rules or punish the countries that broke the pact. The pact also did not define what was and wasn't deemed self defense making it easy for a nation to work around the rules.

    The republican party wins the presidential election again with their candidate, Herbert Hoover. Hoover won with the slogan,"A chicken in every pot, a car in every garage." The democrat candidate was Al Smith.
