The estates were made. The 3 estates were made.The 1st Estate was the Clergy. The 2nd estate was the nobility. The 3rd Estate was all the poor people and some wealthy people. The 3rd estate had to pay taxes. -
Seige and Surrender of the Bastille
Parsains destroyed Bastille. Bastille is a prison and a fortress. This began the French revolution. -
Deceleration of rights of man and citizen
Frances national constitution assembly set it. The first article said that “all men are born and remain free and in equal rights.”All 17 of them belonged to the Constitution of 1971. -
Woman’s march on Versailles
It started as some women in France mad over high priced bread. Then people found out about this and started adding in other revolutionaries. That’s turned it into a huge mob that marched to King Louis XVI’s palace and violently made him change what the crowd wnated him to change. This event is important because it took the kings significance away. -
The rise of political royal clubs
In the beginning of the revolution they were just meetings that you could go to dicuss political events. Throughout the Revolution they started having rules and meme worship requirements to be able to be in one and go to the meetings. The Jocbion Club made by Antoine Barnave had tons of people in it. The rules for this club was you had to be an active citizen and pay at least 24 livres. -
The unsuccessful flight of the royal family
It was called “The Flight to Varennes”. Th reason the flight happened was because the royal family tried fleeing France. But they got captured and returned back to France. -
War and Overthrow of the monarchy
Legalslative votes to get rid of monarchy and become a republic. 1792-97 wars were the 1st collation. -
Trial and exucation of Louis XVI
Louis was sentenced to death for conspiracy with foreign powers. Since he took the throne he couldn’t deal with problems and was a bad king. The narrow majority convicted him. -
Reign of terror
2 of the revoulution groups didn’t like the laws that were being passed. So they strayed besting people and cutting their heads off. The prison population increased a lot because the groups kept a sending people there if they were supporters of truancy and federalism. -
Directory replaces convention
It was a 5 member committee that governed france in 1795. It was over thrown in 1799. The directory was always at war with foreign coalitions.
