This was when the British went to take colonists supplies but the colonists heard about this before the British got there and had already hid them. this battle started the war because the first shot, or the shot heard around the world was fired. -

This contributed to the outcome by giving the colonists hope for the future. They gained this hope because they knew thy were going to lose, but on the other hand, they would have one if they had one more round of ammunition they would have won. -
