The French and Indian War
A war that lasted about seven years between England and American colonies, against the French and Indians. -

King George III made a proclamation that the Colonist couldn't pass west of the Appalachian Mountains and the Indians wouldn't cross it either. -

The first taxes the British started, because they had pay for all of the soldiers they had sent over to protect the colonies. -

Any soldiers that needed housing and necessities had to be taken care of by locals in that area. -

Britain added new taxes on imports of paper, glass, paint, and tea. -

People in America became irritated by the soldiers always being around so they started to harass them causing a feud that killed five civilians. -
Tea Act
The final tax on the American Colonies from the British that put tax on their tea. -
Boston Tea Party
In the Boston Harbor three ships threw out more than 1 million dollars worth of tea into the water. -
Intolerable Acts
The laws that were passed by the British after the Boston Tea party. -

This being the second continental congress they discussed the war, and how to gain their independence. -
