  • French and Indian war

    French and Indian war
    While France and Britian were out conquering America, they eventually crossed paths and a new war was waged after 6 years of peace. The French made more alliances with the Indians and their Northern colonies were called "New France". It all starts in 1754 when the French built a fort on British planter land in the Ohio river valley, and the British sent a militia to evict them. This battle was lost, but it was the first battle of the great founding father, George Washington.

    an open warrant that basically allowed for the british to search any colonial home or ship.
  • Treaty of paris

    Treaty of paris
    When the British had their victory at Quebec, They settled and ended the war in 1763 with the signing of the treaty of Paris.

    it was created at first to avoid conflicts with the Native Americans. It was a line across the Appalachian mountains but colonists kept expanding that way, towards the frontier.

    because britian was in so much debt, they tried to make more money from the colonies. One of the acts they tried to do this by was called the sugar act. It halved the duty on foreign molasses so colonists wouldnt smuggle it, it placed duties on certain imports that haven't been taxed yet, but most importantly it placed the ones guilty of violating it went to a different court rather than a colonial one. Merchants and colonists alike were angry.

    It was a tax imposed on all written items, which required a stamp to insure the tax was paid. In may, the colonists came together and formed the sons of liberty. Then, they boycotted all british goods until theyd be repealed.

    The sons of liberty was a secret underground resistance formed in 1765. Samuel Adams was one of the founders.

    the british released the act the same day as the stamp acts were repealed. It was made to allow parliament to "bind the colonies and america to all cases whatsoever"

    It was a tax that taxed everything imported from Britian. The sons of liberty and Samuel Adams boycotted British goods.

    `Boston Massacre
    The massacre occured in kings street in boston and started with a small fight between some colonists and british soldiers until the british started to shoot. The end result was 5 dead.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The act was supposed to help the East India company which was financially troubled. It did this by letting the company land it directly in America without passing through england, and gave them a monopoly.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    It was a response for the tea acts. Colonsists went on 3 ships and dumped east india tea into the boston harbor.
