End of the French and Indian War
The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian War. The French received all land from the Mississippi River west, while the British received all land from the Mississippi River east. -
The Stamp Act
Parliament passed the Stamp Act, however, it backfired and made colonists protest and resist taxes. -
Townshed Act
The parliament passed the Townshed acts on imported goods before they came into the colony (Glass, paper, and Tea). Soon after the D.O.L and colonists protested it by boycotting imported Fabric(Which means they wore local fabric). -

Jefferson was seen as the principal author of the DOI(Which was the nation's first official statement for choosing their own path) until the 1790's as it was originally shown as a collective effort by the whole congress. -

This battle was a small one although it was pivotal since the Hessian army was crushed by Washingtons raid. -
State Constitutions
All thirteen states had their own constitutions that it was governed by, some states did not write their own and just revised their charters frm the king by keeping what had worked in the past. -

This battle is somewhat considered a turning point in the war and was crucial for Americans, it was when France entered the war against the Brits and helped supply the Continental Army with supplies. -
Articles of Confederation
This was the first constitution for America that the Continental Congress had, however, it was not ratified by all states until March 1st of 1781. -
Winter at Valley Forge
The winter at Valley Forge was very hard for patriots. They had little to no food, many were barefoot, a disease had broken out, and many were discouraged, and the congress/states could and wouldn't do much to help them. -

This battle lasted multiple days from March 29th until May 12th and it was a major British victory. The British had intended to use the city as a base for more plans in the south. -

Although fighting continued for a year after this battle is considered the end of the war for many when the British surrendered to french and American troops. -

This is when they made an official system where settlers could purchase farmland in the northwest. -

Between May and September, they met to discuss the weak central government that they had under the Articles of Confederation. -
Shay's Rebellion
This was an armed uprising in Western Mass. about a dept crisis among many citizens and the state increasing attempts to collect taxes from people and their trades. -
The North West Ordinance
The Confederation Congress adopted this to provide a way for new states into the Union, it also listed a bill of rights guaranteed for them -
Signing of the constitution
This was when 39 delegates that represented 12 states ratified the constitution. -
Delaware first state to approve constitution
There was a unanimous vote (30-0) to ratify the constitution. -
New Hampshire Ratifies the constitution
They were the last necessary state of the 13 colonies to ratify the constitution, which created a stronger federal government. -
Land Act of 1800
Under this law, people had an opportunity to buy land that was in the northwest directly from the government.
